The NISSAN 13268-AD20A part is an OEM valve cover bolt washer seal. Its primary function is to reliably prevent engine oil leakage along the valve cover retaining bolts, while ensuring appropriate surface clamping pressure and damping resonance from engine operation. Made from a combination of elastomer and metal, this washer is resistant to high operating temperatures and the chemical exposure of engine oil. Aged, hardened, or deformed washer seals can lead to oil leaks on the exterior of the cylinder head; therefore, renewing them whenever removing the valve cover or replacing the valve cover gasket is essential to guarantee a leak-free seal.
